Linz and I went to DC yesterday. She needed to go to an art museum for her art class so she chose the National Gallery of Art in Washington. We went down and made a day of it. We walked down near the Washington monument, then to the Mall (the area with the Smithsonian museums all around it) We walked through the Gallery. Saw alot of French paintings and some modern art. Alot of Jean-Baptiste, Degas, Monet, Renoir, Cassatt. Just alot of Impressionism. It was ok but im more into the Post-Impressionism era with VanGogh. But honestly I am into art even though at times I couldnt interpret the paintings for Linz, haha yeah you think its funny dont you? Special thanks to Community College where I discovered this love. Even got Starry Nights hangin up in my room. Anyways after that we walked up to the Capital took some pics and then headed to Natural History and American History museums and then decided to call it a day and head home. I got us lost going out of the city- which is so unlike me, im usually good with direction and orientation but without a map im basically at a loss. Then when we got back to Lancaster we headed to Kreider’s (a family restaurant chain) where Bonnie works and got some food 🙂 hadnt eaten in 12hrs! then we called it a night and went home. I chilled talked online and then hit the hay…yeah it was a great day.

Hey there! I’m so glad you stopped by my blog!

I’m a wife to a realtor and a momma to 2 energetic boys, living in a bi-level home (some people call it a split level) and fixing it up to suit us. I love a good DIY and being creative. I am passionate about history and  visiting historical places like it’s my job- particularly Colonial time period. I love finding antiques/vintage and rustic items to add to my home decor, vacationing in the Outer Banks of North Carolina and fantasizing about trips to Scotland. Read more

On this blog I share a lot of those things and more, so comment, share, subscribe and come along for the ride!
