Well we were hit with Ivan…yeah can you believe it all the way up in south central. Linz and I went shopping last night and it just wouldnt let up. When I got home, I stayed in the car talking to a friend to see if it would let up- yeah it didnt. It got too late. I ran barefoot to the door and had shoes, bags, jean jacket, umbrella handle in my grasp trying one handed to open a deadbolt and doorknob! It was pelting and blowing AHHH! Later, I was jolted out of my slumber at 2am with Chris calling me asking me if i knew where his mom was cuz he thought she was staying the night out our place- turns out the farmhouse had 2ft high water in the yard and the basement was flooding with 3 steps left! They could kayak in their yard! craziness! I had to drive to work at 7:15 dodging debri and flooded roads. Cars were left where they were stranded overnight. The Swatara Creek, down over the hill from us, was flooded up to the cottages all along the banks. It just really really came down and never stopped. Again another Hurricane hits us around my bday! Last yr Isabel now Ivan…Izzy and Ivy too peas in a pod i tell ya. I can not imagine what the Gulf feels…its just crazy…here comes Jeanne. Go easy on us this time!
