I recently finished listening to the audio version of ‘Anxious for Nothing’ by Max Lucado.
If you know me, you know I can be a little anxious sometimes. I worry and I stress over things that I may or may not be able to control. That being said, I thought it would be a very good idea to read this book. I did a little searching and found it on my local library’s app and borrowed it. If you have a local library check and see if they have an option to borrow audio through an app- that way you can stream it on your tablet or phone!
What I learned
Here’s some key points that I wrote down:
- You can trust God with your salvation but not your everyday? You don’t know Him well enough then! Wow that smacked me in the face!
- If you are anxious and worry unbelievers will question your faith and your God. Please God first.
- Don’t push yourself into the future when you have the present. You rob/steal what is God’s from Him.
- Where faith begins, anxiety ends. True very true!
- Hebrews 11 and 12 are the ‘faith’ chapters.
- Read through the Psalms when you are anxious. Praise God when you are anxious. It will make you feel better and stop worrying. I need to remember to do this!
- Lack of thankfulness and contentment is an act against God. He has you where you are for a reason. So hard to remember this! Sometimes we feel like we are in a certain place and need to get out of it quickly! Spot and think about your circumstance!
- Confidence in God’s providence- Do not worry by taking your earthly circumstances too seriously. I know I take life seriously and I need to lighten up!
- Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart- do not fret. This verse gets me all the time! There are a lot of desires of in my heart that are a good desires. They have not come to fruition yet!
Do you suffer from anxious? I highly recommend you listen to read this book!
