May Favorites

I love a good favorites list from my fellow bloggers, YouTubers and Instagrammers. I have not shared a favorites list of my own since February.

This isn’t going to be your typical favorites list. It isn’t full of products to purchase. It has some inspiration rolled into it. So let’s get to it.

But first, products…

So far since the end of February, with the exception of this week (I haven’t been taking my vitamins as vigilantly) I have not been sick since I have been taking Vitamin D! I love the Olly gummy vitamins! Since I had something going on with my stomach, my mom recommended taking a probiotic. I had recently started the boys on one and I decided to go with the Olly prebiotic and probiotic in one. Yum! The Vitamin D is a citrus flavor and the Pre/Probiotic is peach! They are all natural and none of the fillers! I must say, I feel a lot better!

The boy’s probiotic is Good Day Chocolate probiotic for kids. Who can go wrong with chocolate?!? I had been on the hunt for one that doesn’t have sugar coated on the outside. My boys didn’t care for those. I wanted a probiotic predominately because of my oldest and his stomach issues that he gets on occasion. They still take the Up and Up brand multivitamin complete gummy. Again, none of the junk! My oldest seems to be very sensitive to food dyes. I watch those in our products like a hawk!

Two weeks ago, when the temps spiked in our area, I got summer fever! I decided to ditch the indoor/outdoor rug that I had on our deck which didn’t dry very fast and got a light weight reversible one from Michael’s for $20 (with a coupon it was basically $10 or under!). I love how it makes our deck so summery and festive! The boys love to play on it with their cars and other toys.

I am loving my Charge 3 Fitbit! I got mine second hand from my best friend who upgraded to a Samsung after just a few months. So it was basically brand new! I had an old Charge HR and was not getting consistent steps like I thought I should be getting. Big difference! I was averaging 400 more steps! I love the sleek look (grey and rose gold). I also have a sport band for when I am working out and working in my garden.

Moscow mule cups are my jam! What was originally a Christmas present for hubby turned into something I use on the regular. Honestly, you can put anything you want to drink cold in them. Lemonade, sweet tea, mocktail or cocktail. They are so fun classic looking too!

And now for the DIYs

I am loving my newly updated bathroom! I went for a Farmhouse Spa look. It is so serene and cheery. I love my plantation shutters soooo much! I bought two one for the bathroom and one for the kitchen. I do not regret it one bit! I love the way I went with the towel hooks. We also got a new toilet seat with a training seat for our toddler/preschooler. It has been wonderful and we are able to ditch the colored toilet seats and potty chairs. Yea! Plus no slamming the lid from my oldest! And not to mention the ease of cleaning it!

I am also in in love with white enamel and black pieces. My first foray into this was my ‘Lovers Lane’ sign that I scored at a local antique store. Turns out it isn’t an antique but you know what, I don’t care. This will be going in our bedroom on top of the old beam that I scored at a reclaimed lumber place (turns out I actually will be getting two shelves out of one beam!) I am really starting to love white and black contrast in my home decor. I so wasn’t a black decor person but I am really enjoying incorporating it into my farmhouse decor. Every time I see antique enamel ware in the antique stores, I want to buy allll the things.

I also made some room decor out of embroidery hoops (such an ordeal! measure, measure, measure!) and old, antique doilies. I discovered this DIY idea from My Little Kate Cod on Instagram.

Oh and you guys! I scored on Facebook Marketplace last week with a beautiful farmhouse inspired cabinet that I converted into a pantry for in our kitchen! Our upper cabinets just weren’t deep enough and the lower cabinets just weren’t serving us well. They were a low profile and the boys kept climbing on the countertop to get into the snacks. Yes this way they have easier access but it seems like it isn’t as enticing for some reason. I guess boys just like living on the edge, haha.

Also, I scored a slant top writing desk in what I was told mahogany. Although to me, it looks like cherry. Anyway, I cleaned that puppy up and took the hardware off and cleaned that up and it looks great!

Do not hesitate to look on Facebook Marketplace for items that are on your wishlist. it will definitely save you money in your budget. Doing it this way will allow your money to go further!

So that’s what I have been loving lately. What have you been loving? I love to discover new things. Let me know in the comments!

Have a great weekend!

Hey there! I’m so glad you stopped by my blog!

I’m a wife to a realtor and a momma to 2 energetic boys, living in a bi-level home (some people call it a split level) and fixing it up to suit us. I love a good DIY and being creative. I am passionate about history and  visiting historical places like it’s my job- particularly Colonial time period. I love finding antiques/vintage and rustic items to add to my home decor, vacationing in the Outer Banks of North Carolina and fantasizing about trips to Scotland. Read more

On this blog I share a lot of those things and more, so comment, share, subscribe and come along for the ride!
