Memories….

I have written in over a week, but a thought came to my mind while watching the news with hubby. I have a very vivid photographic memory. I can remember clear back to when I was 2 yrs and 7 months old. My twin cousins were born and I remember my mom boosting me up to see them in the nursery. I can remember the lighting and my family members that were there. I also remember alot of the 80s music when I was 2 yrs old cruising in my mom’s Ford Pinto which was white with reddish stripes, black interior and it was a 2 door. We didn’t get to go to the beach when I was about 4 or 5 because the timing belt broke. I remember when my dad came to get my grandparents dog and put it to sleep. I remember his last car he had- we called it the ‘green machine’. I remember him throwing me into the pool at 2 or 3 and telling me to swim (it is the way I learned to swim though and I don’t regret him doing that). I remember my grandmother’s black 80s mustang. I also remember my grandfather’s old Datsun that I almost had my finger slammed in the tailgate. Is there a trend here? I seem to remember cars! I remember when I was about 3ish and I got Barbie undies from my great grandparents for part of my Christmas present and they were yellow and pink. I use to carry a towel around when I was 2ish and it had a cookie jar and cookies on it and I liked carrying it around because I liked the smell of the laundry detergent. I remember vividly the layout of my parents and I’s first apt that we lived in from the time I was born until I was about 3. I remember when I was 3 and my mom, dad and I came back from a ride and stopped at my grandparents and I didn’t have anything to swim in but all my cousins were in the pool so my mom told me to swim in the underwear. Those were the days. Times were easy. I am still thankful for my photographic memory. It gives me good memories, helped me through school with memorization and could help me if ever I needed it for a crime. I guess I could call it a gift- I don’t know but I thank God for all those beautiful vivid memories in my mind. I hope they stick with me.

Relaxing weekend in the mountains…
Here’s to 27…

Hey there! I’m so glad you stopped by my blog!

I’m a wife to a realtor and a momma to 2 energetic boys, living in a bi-level home (some people call it a split level) and fixing it up to suit us. I love a good DIY and being creative. I am passionate about history and  visiting historical places like it’s my job- particularly Colonial time period. I love finding antiques/vintage and rustic items to add to my home decor, vacationing in the Outer Banks of North Carolina and fantasizing about trips to Scotland. Read more

On this blog I share a lot of those things and more, so comment, share, subscribe and come along for the ride!
