So this morning I woke slightly out of a deep sleep and heard Joe’s alarm going off on his cell phone…for the…tenth time. Not really but you get the point. Then I was really shaken awake after it dawned on me (get it dawned? lol) anyway, I realized MY alarm hadn’t gone off yet. What time could it possibly be? I leaned over and looked at my alarm clock on my bedside table- 7:30!!!!! Gosh dang it! I have to be at work at 7:45! Yep I got ready in SIX minutes! The fastest I think I ever did for work in my life. I threw on my clothes. Checked my hair- i’ll pull the bangs up and it will have to do, brush my teeth, throw on my glasses, do a little quick make up fix to make me look awake and I’m out the door. I made it! THANK THE LORD!
Joe and I basically did a few things around the house and relaxed- which we hardly ever do and we are getting good at it lately.
Last night while we were at Joe’s grandparent’s for dinner there was an two car, plus tractor trailer accident RIGHT in front of our house! Craziness! I heard the siren and immediately thought of the candle I had burning in the living room before we left. Did I blow it out??? I can’t remember! I remember thinking about remembering to blow it out before we left, but did I do it? Joe couldn’t remember if he saw it lit or not. So I borrowed brother in law’s jeep cheroke (I can’t drive Joe’s car because I haven’t learned stick yet- don’t get me started!) I tried to get there as fast as I could and the last road turn off before the couple of yards to our house was blocked off- crap! my heart started beating faster. I went down towards the high school it was blocked off. I rolled down the window and asked the police if I could some how get through to my house and explained about my dumb candle! They said to tell them at the other road block and I parked and ran down the sidewalk to our house. There were 3 fire companies there and apparently a sedan hit a jetta who ran into the tractor trailer’s gas tank. Luckily no ruptures but they were cleaning up debri on our driveway at the sidewalk! I ran over to the neighbors and got a brief synopsis and me and the little neighbor girls ran over to our house and I checked on the candle- it was OUT! phew!
This is the candle that was burning…
Well that’s all for today! Have a great night!
haha, I can relate to the candle thing…. I hate not being able to remember if I blew them out, well now I use candle warmers, but still turn them off when I leave. I think they are safer. I remember one time we were driving home and saw a bunch of lights and firetrucks, and your heart just sinks thinking ” what it my house is on fire/gone!” What a relief to see it…..
Yeah totally. Glad I'm not the only one!
