It’s been awhile since I have shared a favorites post on the blog. I like the idea of sharing a lot of what I post and share on Instagram in a weekly or monthly post. It’s a more tangible way of linking since I don’t have that capability on Instagram.
So here we go, in no particular order….
Poldark is in full swing. It’s a good Season (sadly the last) so far. We were given a teaser trailer for Outlander which starts the fifth season in February.
I discovered a new to me podcast called True Tales from Old Houses. It’s interesting and helps with my love of old houses. An instagrammer I follow, House of Brinson, was just featured and that was how I found out about it. Check it out!
This week we celebrated our son’s 8th birthday. We had a small birthday party for him. I decided I was going to make Betty Crocker’s Confetti Cake Roll that I have had on my Pinterest account forever. Well that was ambitious! I doubled the recipe so it made enough and it ended up cracking in two places on each cake roll. Luckily the icing and sprinkles saved the day.
Here’s the beautiful Betty Crocker cake roll
Here’s mine in which my dad said ‘It looks like an oven mitt’-
I finally finished my new gallery wall! I am happy with it and it sits right above my writing desk! It still has a lot of family history elements. Our family trees like we had up in our dining are and pictures of our grandparents. I still need to add the latest family picture and a beloved picture I took of my late grandparents on the beach back in 2003. This time I included our family growth chart which looks like a giant ruler.
I have fallen in love with the online boutique owned by the sweet Brielle called ‘Redefine Beauty Co’. Brielle is a fellow momma who created an online boutique that sells “fashion-foward, high quality, modest, and responsibly sourced clothing brand for women, kids and baby!” She also helps others along the way.
Since going part-time and not having the expendable income to just run to the outlets on my lunch break, I have taken to purchasing her fabulous finds as my budget allows. It’s like having my own personal shopper. I call her my ‘dealer’ now! <laughs> It all started last year with amazing Moto leggings! Here is one of my latest purchases, the sand tart paper bag pants. I have also purchased the Mark Skirt, Topaz Booties. All are one of a kind, I couldn’t pass them up! I also bought an Aphrodite goddess inspired leaf clip that sold out fast! A lot of her items sell out fast- they are that good! A She only brings items into her shop that she personally wants in her closet. Go check her out on her instagram and her shop!
I adored the striped rugby pullover that I bought from LL Bean last year and I bought the one that got away last year.
Next, I have been loving my frother! Totally random, but super useful! It is super cheap too! I bought mine from Target for around $6! So originally, I bought this to froth milk for my coffee. However, I have been using it to mix whatever sweetener I’m using in my coffee (usually honey or stevia), my whiskey and cokes or amaretto sours AND get this- my kid’s chocolate milk and hot cocoa. It now takes no time at all to mix up their chocolate milks and hot cocoa and it makes it more fun! Get yourself one!
Lastly, I wanted to share what I have been taking along with me on my day trips this past summer with my boys. My comfy backpack was a TJ Maxx find last summer when I was going to Williamsburg with my husband and friends. It is such soft leather(?), I love it. I found it fun and essential to have a hat with a brim. I found this cute one with a cut out in the back for a ponytail as the recommendation of a friend. Next, another recommendation by the same friend, was the Rtic 36oz tumbler. This is a great dupe for Yeti and Hydro Flask but half if not 75% off. I also love the fancier Vera Bradley lanyard. I can put it around my neck while I’m chasing after my three year old and my keys won’t get lost in my purse. They are super cheap at the Vera Bradley Outlet. Which brings me to the Vera Bradley Zip Id Case. They fit nicely in diaper bags or any purse, less bulk when you don’t need everything. And lastly, my natural hand sanitizer spray.
There you have it! Things I have been loving lately! What are some things you have been loving? Let me know down in the comments!
As always check me out on Facebook and Instagram and give me a follow! Thanks friends!
Thanks for stopping by!
