Our Family’s Top 5 Usborne Book Titles

I must start out by saying, I am an Usborne Books and More consultant. However, I fell in love with them way before that. Before I had my second son, my sister in law had a Facebook party and introduced me to the books. I loved them ever since. Last year a close friend from high school had a party and became a consultant from there. I had it on my mind that maybe would be a good time to join if I wanted to.

I tell this to everyone, Usborne is in the United Kingdom as Scholastic books is here. It has been around for at least 25 years and is just now really taking hold in the United States. It was first popular years ago with homeschool families and still is. It is as educational as it is fun. The illustrations are impeccable. The ‘and more’ of the title is Kane Miller books. The saying goes, Usborne is for the mind and Kane Miller is for the heart.

Here is my list of favorites so far….

The Outdoor Book

This book is great. Don’t underestimate the title. It has something for every weather and climate. Rain, Snow, Sun and Clouds. There is an activity in it for all seasons, day and night! Check out this video and get into the book!

See inside…

This is a great book to teach kids about the human body! These are geared for age 7+ but I think all ages can get something from them. My oldest and I once sat waiting in urgent care looking through this whole book!  We were there because he had a corneal abrasion! He still looked through it the whole time with me. It has sooo many flaps and so much information and facts! There is See Inside Trains, Shakespeare, Space Stations, New York City, Where Food Comes From, Exploration and Discovery, Great Cities, Famous Palaces and How Things Work. I also want to get See Inside Energy and Weather and Climate from this series. There is also Look Inside (3+) and Peek Inside books (3+).

Big Book of…

My oldest is all about dinosaurs! Sometimes he thinks he’s a dinosaur 😕🙄😔 I got this one for him when he was 4 and he still loves it at 6! The Big Book of Dinosaurs is apart of the Big Book collection- Trains, Trucks, Tractors, Bugs, Animals, Sea Creatures, the Body and Rocket Ships. As well as which I didn’t show here but are also my favorite- Stars and Planets and Colors. Seriously, I have never seen books like these! Here is a great video video to see some of them

Shine A Light

Last but not least, the Shine-A-Light series. I always say, these are the books that sold me on Usborne Books. I had never seen any book like it!  Every other page has a hidden image.  If you shine a light on the opposite side, you see an image come through from the other side, as if by magic! My oldest loves getting out the flashlight and looking at them. Here is a great video to see more about them and how they work. Here is a great video to actually see them in action~ Shine A Light.

There you have it! My family’s favorite Usborne Books. I actually filmed a video with my oldest on his favorite books and why. Here is my son’s favorite-

He really enjoyed filming it! Please excuse the fact that my head isn’t exactly in frame. I’m still learning this whole videography thing and I don’t have a monitor.

Are you new to Usborne Books and More or already a fan? Let me know down in the comments!

Declutter and sell your stuff!
Doing my part to reduce waste…

Hey there! I’m so glad you stopped by my blog!

I’m a wife to a realtor and a momma to 2 energetic boys, living in a bi-level home (some people call it a split level) and fixing it up to suit us. I love a good DIY and being creative. I am passionate about history and  visiting historical places like it’s my job- particularly Colonial time period. I love finding antiques/vintage and rustic items to add to my home decor, vacationing in the Outer Banks of North Carolina and fantasizing about trips to Scotland. Read more

On this blog I share a lot of those things and more, so comment, share, subscribe and come along for the ride!
