I hate grocery shopping, can anyone relate? I especially started to loathe this chore when I became a mother of two and still worked full time. I decided to try grocery delivery when I was still on maternity leave last year in the earlier part of 2016. Can I just say LOVE! It was so easy. I downloaded the app. I selected the products that were on my list, entered my address and payment info and selected my delivery date and submitted. I also found a $10 off code for first time shoppers which was an added bonus! Our local delivery is Peapod which is contracted with one of our local grocery stores and happens to be the one I prefer anyway.
I was impressed with the selection and have so far only had one time that my item needed be substituted and they substituted it with a brand name product for the same price! My strawberries and other fruit have always been fresh and they have always delivered at the beginning of my delivery time window! The delivery people have always been very friendly and helpful.
There is also Amazon Pantry and Amazon Fresh, these I have not had experience with. There are other options starting up, some are not as local for us.
One thing that I have experienced is that when I do decide to go to the grocery store, I end up spending WAY more than what I would have going the delivery route (no pun intended!) I was so disgusted one Saturday that I did this, that I decided from that day forward when I have a big ‘order’ I am not going to the grocery store because it is going to be probably twice as more at the check out! I end up stocking up on sale items, and being enticed by new things. Plus I just can not deal with going in and out of the aisles when I just want to get in and get out!
The only thing with delivery and specifically our delivery company Peapod is that you have to have a minimum of $60. So I do have to go to the grocery store or send my husband on the way home from his Sunday real estate open house to pick up some things that need replenished. You also should add a tip which all in all is peanuts compared to what I would have spent at the grocery store!
If Peapod is local to you, head on over to their website and use code RMN20FDM at check out on your order of $75 or more and then get 60 days of FREE delivery!
So I say give it a try, see how you like it! I know this momma is very thankful for this invention and modern convenience!
