Last April 22, Dave Ramsey and Rachel Cruze launched their new book, Smart Money Smart Kids. This book gives Dave’s advice as a father and financial guru and Rachel’s advice from a daughter’s perspective on how to raise money smart kids at each stage. Prior to the launch the Dave Ramsey team put an email out looking for people to apply to be on the book’s launch team. I jumped at the chance! I thought, what do I have to lose? They were looking especially for people with a good media presence to get the word out. I had a blog (although not a very busy one), I loved Pinterest (and I started a Dave Ramsey board on there) and I was on Facebook. Well low and behold, a few days later I got this email;
Hello there,
Thanks for your recent application to join the Smart Money Smart Kids Book Launch Team! We have great news for you today! You officially made the team!
We spent a lot of time going through hundreds and hundreds of applications, and we thought you would be a great asset to the team. We’re really excited to get going here, and are so grateful for your help in spreading this important message.
Hundreds??? HUNDREDS??? Wow, I was so honored! It was a great experience to be on that team!
Here is my Amazon review:
Dave did it again, this time with his daughter, Rachel, at the helm. In Smart Money, Smart kids they give thought provoking ideas and tips to bring your children up in the godly knowledge of money. Don’t let your children repeat your family history of wrong decisions with money. End the debt cycle now! You can do it and Dave and Rachel show you how. Packed with prospective from the parent AND child they show you how to mold a child and get them ready to ‘fly the nest’ when they are adults and be an amazingly productive citizen of society and not stay in your home forever! Don’t hesitate buy your copy today!
I definitely recommend you read it. You will not regret it! Just think what legacy you could leave your children? That is priceless!
Well this year they launched a new class that joined the two other ones that they already have- Financial Peace University (in which my husband and I had the privilege of leading at our local church this past Fall) and The Legacy Journey, which is designed to be the follow up to the FPU experience/class.
The new class is called is obviously based off of the book Smart Money Smart Kids. Check out the official website at www.smartmoneysmartkids.com. I apologize, for some reason I was not able to make that a clickable link.
Check it out! You won’t regret it! You can also join a local class if there is one in your area!
