Tip Tuesday: Under the Kitchen Sink and Little Ways to Spruce Up Your Kitchen

When we moved into this house two years ago,  I pretty much put things in cabinets with cheap non stick liners and called it a day. Of course I put it them away in an organized way but not the way I was happy with.

Recently, we decided to stay in this home and I decided to work on getting things organized and placed the way that made me happy. I was at Target on Friday and decided to grab some shelf paper and line my shelves. The non stick liners were starting to slide all around and just weren’t doing the job anymore. I put some 80s music on and got to it.

I took out each cabinet’s contents and got rid of items I hadn’t used in the two years we lived here and items that weren’t needed anymore.

I made things more efficient for making lunches (bending over everyday and opening a drawer for a sandwich bag was not fun). I decided to put them in the utensil drawer to the right of our silverware drawer. I am throwing around the idea of buying silicone reusable bags for sandwiches and snacks.

I also, cleaned out under the sink, which I didn’t do much at all since we’ve been here. I was able to get rid of a lot of bottles and it looks wonderful underneath

It is amazing how a pretty, bright and printed shelf paper can make you smile. When I open my cabinets it’s like a breath of fresh air.

This is a great way to bring some life to your kitchen, especially in the doldrums of winter.

I’m a wife to a realtor and a momma to 2 energetic boys, living in a bi-level home (some people call it a split level) and fixing it up to suit us. I love a good DIY and being creative. I am passionate about history and  visiting historical places like it’s my job- particularly Colonial time period. I love finding antiques/vintage and rustic items to add to my home decor, vacationing in the Outer Banks of North Carolina and fantasizing about trips to Scotland. Read more

On this blog I share a lot of those things and more, so comment, share, subscribe and come along for the ride!
