I don’t know about you but around here it is the start of summer for our kiddos. School is officially out and summer has unofficially started! Send wine! No I’m kidding… but if you want to go for it, I won’t complain!
I have been feverishly trying to get some projects done. There have been lots that have been put on the on back burner due to my husband’s schedule. Well there are a few that I can share now.
The one I am most excited about is….my garden! I have been itching to get kitchen garden going since the hot weather will soon be upon us. I can do a step by step tutorial but basically we used wood pallets for the raised beds. I was really excited to get the summer garden rolling. The surrounding flower bed needs a bit more planning.
This weekend, I discovered we had three mulberry trees growing along with nine, yes NINE Rose of Sharon. For whatever reason, I have never liked that name. No clue why, I can’t pinpoint why. Anyway, apparently they can be invasive and they seem to definitely need a good pruning. I plan on cutting them back this Fall or possibly ripping them out and planting Green Giants or other arborvitae.
I also painted the side door at our garage to match our front door.
I am loving our new to us pantry cabinet. My husband told me he feels like he is at the beach. It reminds him of something that would be in a beach house. I told him I love that! I really could go coastal farmhouse. I love the beach!
I am also loving my writing desk. I wish I would have gotten one sooner. It is a great addition to our home decor! It also hides all the various papers and office supplies we had scattered on our counter!
We also hung my accordion hat rack that I am using as a jewelry hanger and also hanging my hats, that I am slowly acquiring.
I also just started painting the basement rec room/office built ins. I am loving it so far. It really makes it pop and brightens the room and makes the ceiling look higher.
Stay tuned… There is plenty of home updates coming. I plan to update weekly.
Have a great weekend!
