What’s in My Running Essentials Bag

If you are new here, I love to go for a good run. No, I’m not a fast runner,  but I love to run. It is a good work out for me and a good way to get some fresh air, space and get into nature. It is also a great accompaniment to the program I participate in, My Peak Challenge.

There are a few things I always grab and take along with me when I go running on the trails. I have to drive to get to them, so I am able to keep things in my vehicle while I run. However, sometimes I use my husband’s car and I am without tissues, like today when I ran in the cold.

I’ve been thinking for awhile now, that I should keep a running pack full of essentials and emergency items. I decided to assemble it today. I was given the backpack the other weekend while I was in Rhode Island and thought it would be perfect. I always grab my Flipbelt so I am able to keep my key with me while I run and my phone in it if I want to run hands free. I always grab bluetooth headphones as well. Can’t leave home without them!

In the summer months I could keep friction block and an exercise towel. An extra hair tie and a little snack would be good as well. I would toss in a pack of tissues and extra pair of sunglasses. And of course, you should take a bottle of water along as well.

This is also a great idea for when you are in a race. You just never know when you may need an emergency item when you are at a race.

So here’s the list:

  1. Flipbelt
  2. bluetooth headphones (these are discontinued)
  3. hairtie
  4. friction block
  5. tissues
  6. a little snack for post run
  7. exercise towel
  8. lip balm
  9. gloves
  10. Fitbit
  11. sunglasses (preferably a plastic pair or running sunglasses)
  12. pain medicine
  13. bandaids

What do you put in your running bag? Share with me down in the comments! I’d love to build a community here with my blog!

Have a great week,

Tip Tuesday: Under the Kitchen Sink and Little Ways to Spruce Up Your Kitchen

Hey there! I’m so glad you stopped by my blog!

I’m a wife to a realtor and a momma to 2 energetic boys, living in a bi-level home (some people call it a split level) and fixing it up to suit us. I love a good DIY and being creative. I am passionate about history and  visiting historical places like it’s my job- particularly Colonial time period. I love finding antiques/vintage and rustic items to add to my home decor, vacationing in the Outer Banks of North Carolina and fantasizing about trips to Scotland. Read more

On this blog I share a lot of those things and more, so comment, share, subscribe and come along for the ride!
